Description
This is where I lived in the mid ‘70’s. It was a small nine-sided house on the side of a steep hill. I was very happy living here.
It had:
cold running water, wood heating stove, propane refrigerator, propane light, propane cook stove, a radio, a great view of snow-capped Sierras to the east, a great deck (no railing) with red rocking chair, snow in the winter, a separate little six-sided meditation room adjoining the house, great quantities of peace, deer, raccoon, fox, lots of tall trees nearby, and simple comforts.
It didn’t have:
electricity, telephone, TV, shower, indoor toilet, hot water (except what I heated on the stove), a driveway or a place to park anywhere nearby, noises from traffic or city, nearby neighbors, locking doors, or a mortgage.
I shot this picture in late fall from a ridge some distance away. In summer the house was very hard to see because of the leaves on the oak trees.
